Can Hiv+ Do Bachelors Then Join Marines As Officer?
Like my cousin wants to join hes HIV+ with a really good immune system and is syntamatic with no detection of the virus but still there and is in very good health all i hear is good news from his doctor, only bad news is no cure yet :\
He wants to do his college first than join the marines as a officer do you think they will take him even though HIV+?
No – it is an absolute permanent disqualification for any branch of the military service.
Additionally, if they did allow someone with HIV to join, the military would at that point accept all responsibility for all continued Medical treatment and that is just not going to happen.
No. He may seek employment as a GS- Civilian or Non-Combatant Contractor. The Navy allows the HIV+ member to serve out the rest the contract being HIV+, but they are not allowed to re-enlist or continue their commission status
Sorry, you cannot join the military if you are HIV+. And becoming HIV+ while in will get you a medical discharge.
Like everyone else said, you can not join if you have HIV. Not whatsoever.
You 100% can not join the military at all with HIV. It’s pretty common sense, they want you to be healthy and able to serve.
HIV is disqualifying for entry with zero waivers authorized.
No, he can’t. Neither branch of the military. He would put in danger of spreading it to other Marines.
