Will Not Eating Enough Calories Affect Skinnier People Moreso Than Heavier People?

I weigh 224 pounds and have been consuming 1,200-1,500 calories a day for 3 weeks so far to start losing weight: have lost 6 pounds so far (I also walk for 30-45 minutes a day) I’ve been reading that it’s not healthy to go below 1,000 or even 1,200 calories a day, but nobody says why. I figure that I have the extra fat to burn if my body needs it if I don’t quite get 1200 calories in a day, say 1,100 somedays. Is this safe to assume? I realize that by not getting my calories I may not be getting my nutrition, but this isn’t an every day occurence, and I wanted to make sure I don’t jeopardize my weight loss or health by not getting that 100 extra calories on some days. Thanks for your help.

  1. I used to weigh 230 lbs. at the begining of may, now i’m 164 lbs. 5′8 1/2 and still losing. I never counted how many calories I should have, I just got foods that didn’t have much or any at all and no fat. Buy light, fat free, and diet foods. Also my secret is I used:
Xenadrine NRG 8 hr diet pills
    Power 90/P90x …..www.beachbody.com
    7day cabbage soup diet
and if possible start doing weight watchers points…here’s a helpful website….www.dwlz.com
Do them all at once, so even if you think your sliding, you have a back up plan. This is the only way I have succeced in weight loss.
66 pounds lost and counting!!! Good luck! Feel free to email me.

  2. wow i am EXACTLY where u are at now, and had the same questions.
I asked my doctor, my trainer, everyone. The response I got was, take your multivitamins, and try to AIM for 1200
if you are + or – 100 cals you are doing AWESOME.
Im suggesting doing what Im doing – use http://www.fitday.com
its free, and it tells you where your nutritional standpoint is daily, weekly, and monthly..
power to the fat girls gettin skinny!!
    Move over skinny bitches! hahaha
much love and good luck girl!

  3. If your intake goes too low your body will go into starvation mode and make it really hard to lose weight.
I recommend using your own instict when it comes to how little to eat.

  4. stick with 1500 calories per day
