Properties: White cubic crystal. Odorless, non-poisonous, slightly bitter. Very deliquescent. Soluble in water, ethanol and ethyl ether; slightly soluble in acetone, ethylene glycol.
Use: as humectant; refrigerant in air conditioning system; sedative and hypnotic; as catalyst and analytical reagent.
